Myanmar Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) was founded in 2015 focusing on women’s participation in peace and political processes (and the WPS Agenda, at large). The organization facilitates dialogue on areas such as gender responsive security sector, and has developed capacity building programmes on gender awareness, gender research, transformative feminist leadership, and women for sustainable development. MIGS also engages in curriculum development, training, public seminars and dissemination of policy briefs and policy advice on the peace process and peacebuilding initiatives. The organization based in Yangon and is currently active in Seven States and Seven Regions in Myanmar. Program teams covers Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon , Rakhine , Shan State and Yangon , Pago, Thanintharyi , Mandalay, Magwe , Sagaing and Ayeyarwaddy Division.
MIGS is implementing curriculum development and trainings related to peace and women empowerment.
