Myitkyina Zone Lisu Baptist Association (MLBA) was founded in 1968 by the Myitkyina Kachin Baptist Association, with the vision that rural communities have secure and ecologically sustainably natural resource assets that provide for basic household and community needs, e.g. food, livelihoods, and a peaceful society. After 2000, the Church based organization “Myitkyina Zone Lisu Baptist Association” founded a development department to perform development affairs for Lisu people in Kachin, under the supervision of the Myitkyina Lisu Baptist Association. MLBA focuses on livelihoods and food security, civic engagement, peace education, CBO strengthening, and gender sensitivity.
Under the DPP, the MLBA is implementing activities on livelihoods (including value chain assessments), civic and peace education, and gender sensitivity.
