Mingalar Foundation for Development was founded in 2007, to carry out development assistance in remote areas of Waingmaw township. In 2017, Mingalar was included on the township-level organization register. The organisation focuses on livelihoods, land rights and gender sensitivity, with the vision that marginalized people and small-scale farmers are able to continually develop their knowledge and skills in the way that increases their economic standard of living and well-being. Mingalar’s lilvelihoods work includes providing relevant technical knowledge to communities, enabling them to better manage their natural resources, and connecting them to services such as micro credit unions and livestock banks.
Under the DPP, Mingalar is implementing activities on livelihoods, land rights, civic and peace education, and gender sensitivity, including delivering household debt relief and agro-ecology trainings.
